Jose Roman - Group 2 Commander

Jose Roman is a graduate of the 104th Newark Police Academy. Prior to becoming a sworn Police Officer, he was a graduate of Barringer High School located in Newark, New Jersey. For several years, Jose patrolled both the North and South Wards of the City of Newark.

Later in his career, Jose served with the Community Policing Unit, North District Narcotics Unit and the Street Crimes Unit, which is responsible for high crimes patrol locations where he made several gun arrests. Also while in the narcotics unit, he made several seizures of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on the streets of Newark.

Jose received several commendations for his drug seizures and gun arrests. Jose attended and completed community policing and narcotics training from the Newark Police Academy. He also attended Gang Training at the Hunterdon County Fire and Police Academy. Jose has since retired, and is a dedicated member of The Cadet Corps.
